Nailing The Outside Uprights, Sill, Ledger & Ribbon Boards

6.Place the outside sill on the ground. The minimum distance between outside and inside sill is 20 inches (508 mm). A 2 by 10 inch (51 mm by 254 mm) four board scaffold would be 40 inches (1016 mm) wide between uprights.
7.Set up and nail the two end outside uprights on the outside sill.

8.Nail the levelled ledger boards to the outside uprights.
9.Nail the ribbon board below the outside upright ledgers.
