Double Wide Modular Home Foundation Cross Section
Two single modular home foundations can be joined together with lag bolts through the top and bottom header joists and pony walls to form a double wide modular home foundation. Multiple unit modular homes are currently supported by concrete or wood foundations and single unit modular (manufactured or mobile homes) are supported by foundations, pilings or cribbing. Four single modular homes can form a large house or four apartments in one building. The double wide and two story modular homes shown here conform to the building code and highways transportation regulations. They use double wall construction to provide approximately one and one half feet of wall insulation depth. Their exterior walls are in the shape of multiples of the Golden Rectangle, Golden Ratio or Golden Section (GS). The cross section view of two modular home foundations joined together is shown below. |
