Heating
Water By Fibre Optic Cable Sunlight
Fibre optic cable can be used to transport sunlight from a parabolic solar collector to a water filled tank. The water is heated when the painted black interior of the tank absorbs the light and converts it into heat. The flexibility of the fibre optic cable makes it easy to position both the solar collector and water tank. The cable will not freeze during the winter because it does not transport water like a conventional solar heating pipe. Energy loss through the cable is minimal. |
