Leaving Wall Corner Spaces To Allow Top Plate Overlap 

The top plates overlap each other at wall corners and partitions so spaces must be left. Nail kickers on the edge of the subfloor to keep the wall from slipping of the edge of the floor when the wall is raised. See figure 29.
