Applying A Plywood Panel Subfloor To Floor Joists

When applying plywood panel sub flooring, the joints must be staggered. See figure 26. The grain of the plywood must be at a right angle to the joist. Leave about 2 mm of space between the edges of each panel. When square edged plywood is used, the joints must be blocked. Blocking is not necessary when plywood underlay and subflooring are applied with the joints staggered.
