Length By Ratio And Proportion
The gable end stud
length difference
can be calculated by ratio and
proportion as shown on figure 43. If the studs are to be at 600 mm o.c.
and the unit rise is
150 and the unit run is 250, the difference in stud length X will be X
divided 600 mm = 150 mm divided by 250 mm. The difference in stud
length is 360 mm. Subtracting multiples of this distance from the
longest stud will give the lengths of the other studs.
