Calculating The Length Of
The Rafter Overhang And Cut Excess
Calculate the length of
the rafter
overhang as shown on figure 40.
Assume the rafter
projection is 600 mm. Divide 600 by 250 = 2.4 the number of units of
run. 2.4 times 291.5 mm = 699.6 mm the overhang length. Mark a plumb
line at the end of the overhang. Cut along the line to remove excess
rafter material.
